"Araz" Logistics Center

"Araz" Logistics Center

One of Azerbaijan’s largest logistics centers, AVT Logistics, is part of the Veysəloğlu Group of Companies. Located in the Mammadli settlement of Baku, the foundation of the center was laid in 2017.
In 2024, the AVT Logistics Center was integrated into the structure of the Araz supermarket chain and now operates under the name “Araz Logistics Center”. The center has been awarded international ISO 9001 certifications for both Quality Management and Occupational Health & Safety.

Products supplied from Russia, Turkey, Europe, and local producers are first delivered to the Araz Logistics Center. Only goods that pass quality and safety checks are accepted.
However, a total of 9,800 product types — whether local or imported — are re-inspected by quality control specialists. Approved items are then stored under fully hygienic conditions in warehouses that meet international technical and safety standards.

The logistics center spans 22 hectares, including a 9-hectare closed warehouse with a storage capacity of 95,000 pallets. The warehouse holds over 20,000 dry food and non-food SKUs, 120 varieties of fruits and vegetables, and 400 types of refrigerated and frozen products.

The warehouse, which handles 5,000 incoming pallets daily and supplies products to 3,000 stores, operates with the SAP system.

The facility also includes cold storage areas equipped with refrigeration and freezing systems to ensure temperature-sensitive handling.

With a total area of 83,000 m², the Araz Logistics Center is equipped with the latest technologies and a modern fleet. All processes are carried out in an automated manner.
The center employs 3,000 staff and utilizes 252 specialized vehicles to optimize logistics operations.

In 2024, the fleet was expanded with the addition of 63 temperature-controlled trucks, including:

  • 20 units of Isuzu FVR (13-pallet capacity)
  • 43 units of Isuzu NPR 75 L (10-pallet capacity)

These vehicles are designed to simultaneously transport products at multiple temperature levels, with compartments maintaining -18°C, +4°C, and +18°C, ensuring that products reach stores under precisely controlled conditions and in top quality.

Enhanced fire safety measures were also implemented at the Araz Logistics Center in 2024.
The warehouses are equipped with automated water-based fire suppression systems, significantly reducing fire risks.
Additionally, a 1,000 m³ fire water reservoir has been built to ensure rapid response to any fire incidents.
