The “Hand Over Batteries, Protect Nature” project, implemented jointly by the “Araz” supermarket chain, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the Red Hearts Foundation, continues successfully. As part of the initiative, used batteries were once again collected and handed over for proper disposal.
During May, 15 kg of used batteries were collected from the Azadlıq-3 supermarket branch, 9.5 kg from the 20 Yanvar Superstore branch, and 34 kg from the Sumqayıt 3 Superstore branch. The collected batteries were delivered to the “Waste Management Center” LLC.
In total, eco-volunteers collected 58.5 kg of used batteries.
The project aims not only to ensure the safe collection and disposal of unusable batteries without harming the environment, but also to strengthen public awareness regarding environmental responsibility and proper waste management practices.
