Approximately 70 kg of Used Batteries Collected from “Araz” Supermarkets within the “Return Batteries, Protect Nature” Initiative
The collection and handover of used batteries continues within the framework of the “Return Batteries, Protect Nature” initiative, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Red Hearts Foundation, and Araz Supermarketlər Şəbəkəsi.
As part of the project, volunteers collected nearly 70 kg of used batteries in January and February from the Azure, Ahmadli-6, Space, and Gutgashli-1 branches of “Araz” supermarkets and handed them over to the Waste Management Center LLC for further processing and environmentally safe disposal.
The initiative aims to ensure the environmentally sound collection and safe disposal of unusable electric batteries, while also increasing public environmental awareness and strengthening education on proper waste management practices.
