The latest battery collection campaign carried out under the “Recycle Batteries, Protect Nature” project, implemented by the Araz supermarket chain in partnership with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Red Hearts Foundation, has been successfully completed.
During June and July, eco-volunteers collected 20 kg of used batteries from the Rasulzade 1 branch, 15 kg from the Yasamal 3 branch, and 13 kg from the Gutgashinli-2 branch, bringing the total amount collected to 48 kg. All collected batteries were handed over to the Waste Management Center LLC for environmentally safe processing and disposal.
Currently, dedicated collection boxes for used batteries are available at 29 Araz supermarket branches, enabling customers to dispose of their used batteries responsibly.
The proper collection and safe disposal of used batteries play a vital role in protecting the environment and preventing the contamination of soil and water resources.
