
On the occasion of 4 February – World Cancer Day, the “Araz” supermarket chain, part of the Veysəloğlu Group of Companies, organized “Cancer Awareness Week” under the slogan “Araz Creates Awareness.”
Within the framework of the awareness week held from 4 to 11 February, orange ribbon pins were presented to employees of the “Araz” supermarket chain. By wearing these pins, employees drew attention to the fight against cancer and demonstrated solidarity.
As part of the awareness activities, seminars were organized for employees at the company’s Head Office and the “Araz” Logistics Center. During the seminars, an oncologist, a clinical psychologist, and other specialists provided valuable information and recommendations on cancer, its psychological impact, prevention, and the importance of early diagnosis. Participants’ questions were also answered in detail.
As part of the week’s events, a blood donation campaign was organized. Employees participated as voluntary donors at the company’s Head Office and the “Araz” Logistics Center. The campaign was held in cooperation with the Central Blood Bank.
Within the scope of social responsibility initiatives, a charity fair was organized at the “Araz” Babek Superstore to support the provision of essential medications for infants suffering from leukemia. Handcrafted items prepared by volunteers of the “Leukemia Awareness” Public Association were presented at the fair.
It should be noted that the main purpose of holding “Cancer Awareness Week” is to draw attention to the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, and timely treatment, as well as to increase public awareness and knowledge about the disease.
